After a successful opening in September 2018, Mercia School has grown exponentially and will welcome its ninth year group in September 2026. Mercia was Sheffield's most oversubscribed school in for the academic year 2025-26- we hope to continue that trend for 2026-27.
Mercia School successfully achieved Ofsted 'Outstanding' in February 2023 and achieved exceptional GCSE results in 2023 and 2024 . 90% of all pupils achieved a grade 5 or better in both English and Mathematics. We look forward to publishing our 2025 Results in due course.
The Open Event will give parents/carers a chance to tour the school and hear a keynote speech from the Headteacher, Mr Joshua Fisher. He will explain the fundamental vision and values of the school and outline Mercia's very different offer - a longer school day, exceptionally high standards of behaviour, Family Dining and a traditional approach to teaching and curriculum. The Headteacher will speak at the following times:

Families picking Mercia School have to be fully supportive of every facet of school life. So far, parents and carers have been very supportive of the school and it is essential that this continues over the coming years. Attendance rates at Mercia are over 97% in every year group and we expect this to continue - parents/carers are essential in driving excellent attendance. We are very proud of our strong, open relationships with parents, carers and other stakeholders.
