Description

It is with regret that this event has been cancelled. We heard from Newquay Aerohub that the venue was no longer available for the event, and with only a week to go we are unable to find an alternative venue.

The “2017 - Year of Autonomy” (YoA) initiative has the vision of bringing together innovators and users from across land, air and marine autonomy to address key challenges and share learning in a series of seminars / workshops to be held throughout 2017.

This 4th event in the series focuses on Societal Acceptance, bringing together key presenters from businesses and universities engaged in recent autonomous systems developments in the region covering:

  • Public perceptions of autonomous systems (vehicles / vessels) and the “rise of machines”
  • Impact of automation on working practices and the consequential opportunities for new roles and skills

As the technology behind autonomy gathers pace it is vital that we have a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with these systems.

This event, organised by the University of Exeter and Newquay Aerohub, will be of interest to all who design, manufacture, specify and operate autonomous systems.

This event aims to foster closer co-operation and partnering across industry, academia and government. It brings together key experts from different sectors to:

  • discover the transformational effects and potential impacts of marine, land and air autonomy on how we work

  • explore the issues and arguments surrounding public acceptability of the increasing number of activities which embrace autonomy

  • raise awareness of current capabilities and facilities relevant to the development of Autonomy

  • exploring case studies and successes in research, development and innovation

  • discussing priorities, key challenges and potential opportunities

The event is open to businesses, academia and research institutes - all organisations with an interest in autonomy, and the societal impact of autonomous land, air and sea systems.

Price: There is a small delegate charge of £25 +VAT per head to help defray administrative and catering costs for the YoA event.
