This day-long workshop will focus on Children’s Rights and practical implementation of Article 12 of the UNCRC. In September 2024 the Youth Engagement Listen to Learn (YELL) Strategy was launched. This youth participation and engagement strategy was co-produced with young people aged 12 – 25 and is a ‘how to’ guide for professionals.
- Understand the legislation and policy underpinnings of youth voice,
- Learn how the YELL project was developed and implemented,
- Explore how your organisation can use the YELL Strategy in practice to meaningfully involve the voices of young people in your work and keep them at the heart of your decision making.
Refreshments will be provided by YouthBorders for ' smaller breaks' however please bring your own 'packed lunches' for the main break of the session.

Your place on this course will only be confirmed once you have receive an email from Jemma Laidlaw at YouthBorders. This is to ensure you are eligible to attend. Please note we are only able to provide opportunities to organisations, youth workers and volunteers within the Scottish Borders.
Where there is a cost to attend your organisation will be invoiced in advance of the event date. If you need to cancel your place on the above event, please let us know as soon as possible as there may be a waiting list. No cost will be incurred for all cancellations up to 24 hours before the event, any cancellations after this will be subjected to a £15 cancellation fee.
