Yellowcraig Beach: Pirri-pirri burr control
Overview
Yellowcraig is situated 23 miles east of Edinburgh just north of the attractive East Lothian village of Dirleton and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It comprises a variety of habitats, including mature and developing woodland, sand dunes, coastal grassland and rocky outcrops, as well as its long sweeping sandy beach with views to Fidra island.
On this visit we will be removing the invasive pirri-pirri plant to protect the fragile dune habitat
We encourage volunteers to use our minibus for transport. If you live near this task and wish to make your own way you must ring Debbie on 07510959496 to book a space and for joining instructions.
Please bring your lunch and wear appropriate footwear (boots or wellingtons) and waterproof outdoor clothing.
NEW VOLUNTEERS Please only book one task initially. If you do not attend without letting us know, we may cancel any additional task bookings. If you are under 18 you will need to be accompanied by a guardian. Please contact us to discuss arrangements for volunteering with us , or whether other organisations might be more appropriate.
