Become an active member of the ILAE Young Epilepsy Section and participate in our kick-off workshop in London, United Kingdom, 12th-13th May 2018.

Help us shape the next generation of epilesy care and research!

The YES Kick-Off Workshop in May 2018 is a two-day meeting to establish the basic organisational structure and goals of YES. We invite everyone who wants to become an active YES member to participate in this workshop.

Participation is free. Register and be part of it! Registration deadline: 10th March 2018.

Who are we?

The Young Epilepsy Section (YES) of the ILAE is a world-wide organization of young people in the early stages of a career focused on the care of people with epilepsy, and/or epilepsy research. This includes clinical and basic scientists, nurses, physicians, students, psychologists, pharmacologists, physicists, mathematicians, and other allied health professionals.

We are looking for young people who want to become active members of YES and who want to contribute and actively organise our activities.

Who can participate?

Young people (age < 40) involved in epilepsy care and research are invited to become active YES members and to participate in the workshop.

How can I register?

Registration is simple and free – just click the “Register” button in the top right corner. Only a limited number of participants can attend the workshop and we will let you know whether your spot has been confirmed before the end of March

When will you confirm my attendance at the workshop?

Due to overwhelming demand there will be a limit to the overall number of workshop participants. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis with regional quotas to ensure a balanced worldwide representation of workshop attendees. The Organising Committee will send you an email before the end of March informing you whether your attendance has been confirmed. Preference will be given to candidates from underrepresented regions.

How can I apply for a travel bursary?

The ILAE and our sponsors will offer a limited number of travel bursaries. If you want to apply for a bursary, please fill in the respective fields on the registration page. On the registration page, you will be asked to explain (i) how you want to contribute to YES and (ii) why you need a bursary to attend the YES workshop in London, UK. Your anonymised application will be reviewed by two independent referees. We will allocate bursaries based on the reviewers' ratings.

Will travel or accommodation be provided?

We will not provide travel arrangements or accommodation for the workshop. We ask all registered participants to arrange accommodation privately after their attendance has been confirmed. Due to overwhelming demand there will be a limit to the number of participants and we will confirm the final list of attendees before the end of March. Please do not make any binding travel/accommodation bookings before your spot at the workshop has been confirmed. If you have any problems with or need advice on arranging a good place to stay, please contact the workshop organisers.
