Share YES - Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit conference

Event Details

Registration open until June 24th.

The Region of Tuscany has always been very active in the youth policies field. In particular, since 2011, Giovanisì, the programme organized by the region to help young people become independent, has contributed to an improved organisation of existing opportunities addressing young people, and has created new lines of intervention in 7 main areas (Housing, Education and Training, Employment, Civil Service, Internships, Entrepreneurship, and Giovanisì+). Thanks to the financing of the Europeans Structural and Investment Funds, Giovanisì promotes more than 50 different opportunities for young people in Tuscany. From May 1, 2014, Giovanisì opportunities have been combined with the Youth Guarantee Scheme, the European programme promoted with the specific objective of tackling the NEET phenomenon. Also thanks to the integration of Youth Guarantee resources (YEI- ESF) and intervention strategies, the regional cross-cutting system of opportunities dedicated to youth has been extended and improved.

The Region of Tuscany, within EARLALL  (European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning), coordinates a working group on Youth Policies, and good practices on youth entrepreneurship (from school projects to the business start-up) have been collected in recent months. In this context, the Region of Tuscany promotes EARLALL's conference: YES - Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit, that will be held in Brussels (Tuscany Region office – Rond Point Schuman 14, Brussels) on June 27, 2018.

The main aim of the initiative is to promote an exchange of good practices in the field of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as to share successful strategies for boosting youth entrepreneurship, encouraging self employment and improving the school-to-work transition. To this end, thanks to the practical and meaningful experiences collected from these initiatives, the dual system (Alternanza Scuola Lavoro) has proven extremely effective in reducing the gap between school and work systems.

The following issues will be discussed in three panel sessions:

- Training Alliances (school-to-work transition, boosting enterprising spirit in schools, and regional strategies to create effective networks at local level).

- Supporting Business Start-up (guidance and support for the start-up of new companies led by young people and NEETs).

- Pilot Initiatives to make a change (coworking, drop-out interventions, and social enterprises).

Representatives from the European institutions as well as representatives of different European regions will take part in the event.

The initiative is organized by Giovanisì, the EU Liason Office and the Department for Education, Training and Employment of the Region of Tuscany, in the framework of EARLALL.

Draft agenda available here.
