About this event

This workshop ties together Yin Yoga to relax, inspire and unleash creativity and the subtle art of poetry writing - a form of expression with few rules or expectation. Navigating ideas behind inspiration, storytelling and literary devices; this is an all levels accessible workshop.

Amber Dernulc, a published poet and experienced yoga teacher believes both disciplines should be accessible to all - for people of all abilities and approaches. She gained a reputation on the live poetry scene for performing work that amused, entertained and enchanted.

This workshop is suitable for those who have never written poetry before and to those who write frequently but want to find their authentic voice.

This will be a safe and nurturing space, with no expectation to perform, share stories or words - but the support and space if you feel called to.

£25 - includes 1hr of Yin Yoga, tea, snacks and a 1.5hr writing workshop.

Frequently asked questions

I've never written poetry before, can I still come?

Definitely! This is a space free from judgement where you will be guided on weaving words in a freeform way.

Don't poems have to rhyme?

Absolutely not! Check out the work of Mary Oliver :)

I don't want to stand up and read my work

Then you don't have to! I'll be giving public speaking advice but you don't have to share unless you feel called to.

What's yin yoga?

Yin yoga is a calming and passive form of yoga where we hold positions from anywhere between 90 seconds and 5 minutes. We use blocks and bolsters to be held and supported throughout.
