Yin Yoga / Meditation Workshop
Sun 2 April 2017, 10:00 – 12:30 BST
Yin yoga is a deep, meditative, and reflective practice , postures which are floor-based are held for an extended periods from 3-5 minutes with the aid of bolsters, blocks and blankets bringing you to a place of stillness , enabling you to just be and accept what is.
Unlike a more Yang style practice that works the muscles through a repetition of postures, Yin works with the deeper layers of the body, the fascia, connective tissues, joints and bones. Yin is an incredibly healing and nourishing practice.
Chi/ Prana is able to flow more freely due to stimulation and relaxation this then enables the physical body to become more open, which in turn opens the mind and heart . Emotional toxins which have an incredible impact on our overall health are released due to the energy flow through the meridians associated with specific organs.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine each of our organs process different emotions so when energy is able to flow freely through these meridians or channels we gain improved energy for restoration of overall health and wellbeing.
