Yin yoga workshop with Patricia
Sat 3 June 2017, 16:30 – 18:30 BST
Join Patricia for a soothing Yin Yoga full immersion!
The metal element is related to the meridian lines of the Lungs and Large Intestine. Those two meridian lines run up and down the arms, hence we will go into deep poses using the arms and the upper body. We will use deep inhalations while we nourish the body and full exhalations while we let go a little be further. We will trace the meridian lines of the Lungs and Large Intestine before class so that you get an understanding of the energy lines that we are going to target to release blockages and allow ourselves to strengthen our immune system and gain better health. I will throughout the workshop talk about the metal element, the meridian lines and the organs too.Yin Yoga is about relaxing, letting go and has a very meditative quality to it. Today we mostly know of Vinyasa Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga with a more dynamic and fast flow, working on the muscular system, a so called Yang practice. Yin Yoga is calmer and more peaceful, working on the connective tissues which consist of ligaments, tendons, cartilage, joints, capsules and our deep fascial network. Yin Yoga helps to strengthen your body to become healthier, more flexible and mentally more peaceful. In order to reach the connective tissue which by nature is less elastic than our muscles, we have to hold the postures for longer periods of time – between 3 and 7 minutes.Suitable all levels, no yoga experience needed. Wear loose flowing clothes for comfort and movement and bring a warm jumper and socks along.
Yoga found Patricia in 2007 and ever since she has been hooked. Yoga helped her to appreciate the deep connection between body, mind and soul in a totally new way. Through pranayama Patricia created a relationship with her breath, the asanas made her body stronger, the meditation calmed her mind and her health improved: her backache as well as her constant headaches were gone. Patricia not only got stronger and healthier but found peace within herself.
Patricia is trained in Himalayan Hatha Yoga by her teacher Yogi Ashokananda, in Vinyasa Flow by Mimi Kuo-Deemer and in Yin Yoga by Sebastian Pucelle & Murielle Burlier.
