Young Legal Aid Lawyers Kent are hosting a Legal Aid panel event at the University of Kent's new law clinic building (opened in October 2016) - Eliot Extension Seminar Room 9. The panel will consist of experienced legal aid lawyers who will discuss legal aid in general, recent developments, what it is like to work in the field and any difficulties they face.


HOST - Emma Cooke. University of Kent PhD student. Her thesis is "changing occupational terrain of the Legal Aid lawyer in times of precariousness".


SPEAKER - Louise Duckett. Louise qualified in 2012. She is a family solicitor for Rootes & Alliott, and a member of the Law Society Children Panel. She is also a member of Resolution.


SPEAKER - Deborah Cartwright. CEO of Oasis Domestic Abuse Service. Oasis has been delivering services to people experiencing domestic abuse in Kent for 22 years.
