Yoga: A Day of Discovery
Sat 6 May 2017, 10:00 – 15:00 BST
This workshop is aimed at those with some experience of Yoga who would like to delve a little deeper and begin to understand - what is Yoga really? Why do we practice physical postures? Is there more to it than turning up on the mat? What are the key philosophical teachings? How do these relate to our relationship with our Self? And, how can we foster a relationship with our practice so that it becomes a support for our lives day to day?
We will take some physical practice and pranayama during the day. However, much of the day will be aimed at discussion of the key concepts from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (ancient teachings believed by many to be the cornerstone of Yoga study and practice).
Some of the concepts we will discuss on the day include -
Cit - our highest wealth
Citta - the psyche or mind
Nirodha - containment
Sraddha - faith/passion to learn
Tapas - discipline
Viveka - discernment, self awareness
The group will be kept small for the workshop (max 6) and will take place at my home studio in Tongwynlais. Please bring a picnic lunch for your own enjoyment. For enquiries contact email@example.com
