Event description

Description

Journaling is the practice of writing down your thoughts and feelings for the purposes of self-analysis, self-discovery, and self-reflection. As such, journaling is often prescribed by therapists, counselors, and spiritual mentors as a powerful way of developing more self-understanding and compassion. Yoga brings us very much into the present moment, clearing our thoughts and bringing us into a very relaxed, open and creative space. In this workshop Nichi will take you through a gentle, centring flow practice and guided meditation. We will focus very much on tuning in and exploring our thoughts and feelings. Nichi will then guide you into the creative part of the workshop- Art Journaling. Journaling is less about the finished page and more about the process. Just like yoga it can be a very meditative and nurturing process, helping us to sent intentions, create positive guidance and let go of experiences that may be blocking our progress. Nichi will teach you different techniques for creating your pages and provide different art materials for you to explore. Plenty of tea and delicious vegan treats on hand to keep your energy going.

Please bring an apron or old shirt to wear over your yoga clothes for the journaling. All art materials provided but please bring a sketchbook or notebook with thick paper that you can use for your journal. Please also bring an old magazine ( any will do) a couple of quotes that inspire you and a bring a photocopy of an image you would like to work with ( it can be a photo or any image you like). We will be sitting on the floor for the workshop- if this is an issue do let Nichi know and she will provide a table for you.

Before becoming a yoga teacher Nichi worked for many years in the creative arts and then as a Dramatherapist running arts based and creative workshops for people from all backgrounds. She believes that we are all inherently creative and that it is essential for our healing and spiritual growth to nurture that creativity. Switch off and enjoy this nourishing and engaging workshop. Young adults 12 and upwards are very welcome.
