Yoga for Runners Workshop

This workshop is specifically tailored for the needs of runners, helping to build strength, develop balance, and find deep release for tight hamstrings, hips and quads.

The session will also create a space to cultivate a sense of inner focus and mastery of the breath, which are key components in improving your running.

The workshop will begin with a meditation to help you find your focus, as well as breathwork to calm the mind. We will then move through a dynamic flow, focusing on building strength in the legs and core, as well as working on balance, before moving into a yin practice.

Yin yoga is a fantastic complementary exercise for runners - in yin we hold poses for longer periods of time (around 5 minutes) in order to create a slow and gradual release in tight areas of the body. Practising yin can help you to increase your range of motion, and encourages a deep release in the fascia (connective tissues) - promoting longevity for your running.

Yin also encourages stillness and inner focus - helping us to tolerate discomfort and stay calm when the going gets tough - key attributes for any distance runner.

Perfect for:

- Runners of any distance
- Yoga beginners and beyond!

About Kath

200hr Vinyasa Flow RYT | 50hr Yin | 50hr Restorative & Yoga Nidra Vinyasa Flow | Unwind & Relax | Meditation | Mindfulness | Chair Yoga | Yoga for Runners

Kath has been practicing yoga for over ten years, and qualified as a teacher in 2018, graduating from the first 200-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training at Yoga Hero in Leeds. Since then, she has developed her offering by training Yin Yoga, Restorative & Yoga Nidra, and Chair Yoga. Kath has also studied an Advanced Anatomy course with a focus on arm balances.

Kath’s vinyasa classes are dynamic yet nourishing, with a focus on building strength and flexibility, whilst working with the breath to find focus and calm the nervous system. In addition, she enjoys teaching slower styles of yoga, geared towards finding deep rest and relaxation to help relieve stress. She aims to make classes as accessible as possible by offering variations for students to modify the practice to best suit their needs.

Kath is a keen runner and finds that practising yoga is the perfect complement to her running - helping to build strength, flexibility and focus.
