About this event

Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep uses a set of techniques which help to tune into our bodies and focus energy inwards, so we can be taken effortlessly into a deep state of relaxation.

It is a form of meditation, normally practiced lying down or in a relaxed comfortable position, where you will be guided by the voice to create a sense of stillness and internal peace. Think of Yoga Nidra as an extended delicious shavasansa, the same as the end of a yoga class but longer. If you enjoy shavasana, you’ll love Yoga Nidra.

You may like to prepare a short, precise and clear intention to invite and internalise a transformation you desire though a Sankalpa - a wish, a resolve or positive intention that brings peace, happiness and joy to your soul. You will be asked to repeat the Sankalpa during the practice. An intention that feels sincere to you and can be deeply felt will help to achieve the goal of your Sankalpa. If you don’t have one that’s absolutely fine too. You can simply let go of any thoughts and enjoy the practice of relaxation.

All you will need is some cushions or pillows, a blanket or throw and maybe something to cover your eyes so you are not distracted. If you have a yoga mat, or something supportive to lie on that will be helpful. We’ll spend a little time at the start of the session getting comfortable, relaxed and ready for Yoga Nidra.

Come prepared for sleep, with your evening rituals and supper complete so there are no distractions – nothing to do, nowhere to go, just peaceful rest and relaxation.

Perfect.

See you soon
