Event description
Historic York - a stroll around York and along the River Ouse

About this event

York offers many options for walking and our route will be dependant on weather conditions in February.

Our aim is to walk along the River Ouse to Clifton Ings - a circular walk of about 7 miles.

We will meet at 10 am at the entrance of Yorkshire Museum in Museum Gardens Museum St, York YO1 7FR

Join us for lunch or refreshments in York at the end of the walk.

Confirmation of the walk and any further joining instructions will be emailed nearer the time to all attendees who booked tickets.

Peter Lumley will be your walk guide - here's a little more info about him and his interests.

“I have enjoyed countryside walking for most of my life. When the hills are not too steep I also enjoy talking. Having left the world of work behind, the ‘Suits2Boots’ group fits my needs admirably. Whilst having fading memories of a life of coaching, training and consultancy I am these days far more interested in the freedom that I enjoy to have wide ranging conversations in which music, beer, old cars, and woodturning may well surface, amongst any other subjects that capture that walk’s zeitgeist.’

If you need any more information about Suits2Boots or this walk or if all tickets have been taken then please 'Contact the organiser' and we will respond as soon as we can.

Organiser Suits2Boots

Organiser of York - a stroll along the River Ouse

A walking and talking group for anyone making mid and later life transitions from full time work to retirement or a new portfolio lifestyle. Time and space in the outdoors to share experiences, learning and ideas about how to shape the next stage of life.

Our walks are free to attend, led by volunteers and between 5 and 10 miles. Group size is limited to 12, we will provide introductions and some ideas for things you may want to talk about. Walks will be at various locations across Yorkshire, County Durham and the North East.

Participation is at your own risk so you will need to be responsible for your own equipment, refreshments and safety. However, we walk as a team and you will never be left alone.
