Description

York coaching circle is a developmental learning opportunity to apply your coaching skills, experience and style with fellow coaches.

We are inclusive and open to coaches with a whole range of skills and experience. This includes those just starting out on their learning journeys, including those in training.

This meeting is an opportunity to find out more about the circle and is open to current, new and former participants.

At the meeting, we share our experiences of participating in the circle, talk about what we've learned and consider how together we can take the circle from strength to strength. We can also answer any Qs from potential new members.

A short reminder of how the circle works is below:

The purpose of the coaching circle is to create a safe learning environment for coaches of all abilities to come together to coach and in turn, be coached; to learn from one another and to develop their coaching skills. For each round, you will be matched with both a coachee and a coach.

You agree to coach another coach (your coachee) for 6 sessions lasting 1 hour over a 4 month period and also to receive the same amount of coaching yourself from a different coach (that’s 12 hours in total).

It's up to you and your coachee/coach to decide when and where to meet, how long sessions should last and whether to meet face to face or use the phone/Skype. You'll usually also agree to get some feedback from your coachee and to provide feedback to your coach at whatever point in the process suits you.

We ask that if you join the circle, you fulfill these commitments as otherwise it leaves others without a partner for the round. As with all coaching, strict confidentiality must also be agreed between yourselves during contracting.

The next round will start in May 2018. At the meeting, and shortly afterwards by email, you will be asked if you want to join in the next round.

Pairings will be made and communicated by end May.

Organised by

Zoe Birch, and co-circle organiser, Pam Wells have been running the York Coaching Circle since 2012 on a voluntary basis.  Both are experienced coaches.  There are 3 coaching circle rounds, each lasting 4 months held every year, plus 3 meetings at the Black Swan, York where members, past and present  can meet up to share learning and welcome potential new members.
