Writers, performers and photographers of York Creatives, unite!
Are you a writer in need of a professional photo - one that feels authentic and true to your creative self? Are you a performer in need of a casting headshot? Are you a photographer looking to practice new skills and expand your portfolio?
Join us for the next York Creative Blends: a three-way, collaborative workshop between writers, performers and photographers.
Come and spend a few hours getting to grips with headshots; play with looks and poses, lenses and lighting. We will take a look at what makes a good headshot before playing practically together to improve skills and share learning.
Photographers will come away with experience and examples for their portfolio, as well as insight into what writers and performers are looking for in a professional headshot session.
Performers will come away with knowledge of what they may need out of future headshot sessions, practice of a few poses, and some initial photos!
Writers will come away having had a first go at posing for an author headshot, in a supportive and friendly environment, and with performers on-hand to help you express your creative personality on camera. Plus some initial photos!
Who Should Attend:
- Writers, actors and any who would like to get a bit more comfortable having headshots taken
- Photographers looking to practice their portraiture
- Creatives open to collaboration!
What to Bring
- Photographers: camera, triggers and recievers
- Writers and actors: your own book or any props you might like to use
Spaces are limited. Book your place now and be part of this inspiring creative exchange.
This event is designed for all experience levels and is part of the Blends series – a program of interdisciplinary events by York Creatives, encouraging collaboration across the arts.
Please note: We cannot guarantee quality of the photos you come away with, but we will aim for them to be usable; these would be especially useful for those who don't currently have a headshot, or might not be able to pay for a full session.
