Join York Photographers, and Written in York in this edition of York Creatives Blends for a collaborative session where storytelling meets visual art.

We are excited to invite writers and photographers to step into each other’s creative spaces and co-create new work. Whether you're a writer inspired by imagery or a photographer drawn to narrative, this session offers an opportunity to explore, experiment, and connect.

Photographers - do you struggle to write about your own work? Do you feel like writing is a skill that feels far away?

Writers - would you like to have a go at working with an image for inspiration and tackle both creative and non-fiction writing from a different angle?

Join us in the wonderful Thin Ice Press workshop to have an evening of writing around photography. We will begin with a group discussion focusing on how to write about photography, including narrative approaches and contextual exploration. We'll then move onto some exercies to help you respond to selected photographs, using both creative and practical writing techniques. Throughout this session we hope to build everyone's confidence in writing and to unleash some more creative freedom!

Whether you're a writer inspired by imagery or a photographer drawn to narrative, this session offers an opportunity to explore, experiment, and connect.
