Yorkshire and Humber School of Public Health Annual Conference
Wed, 21 Jun 2017, 09:00 – Thu, 22 Jun 2017, 16:00 BST
Please note that this Conference is designed for current/future registrars, supervisors and faculty members within the Yorkshire & Humber School of Public Health. Registration requests from people outside the School will be added to a waiting list and confirmation of your place will be sent out, should any places become available.
‘Creativity out of Crisis: Effective Leadership in Fragile Times’
This year the annual Yorkshire & Humber School of Public Health conference will focus on the relevance of the evolving social, political and economic context to achieving public health objectives over the next decade. Focus will be on understanding the current socio-political climate, considering our role as public health professionals in relation to this, and how we can respond to the issues facing the communities we work in.
On day 1 registrars will use creative methods to better understand the crisis and practice skills of inquiry and conflict management
On day 2 we will hear the perspectives of three external speakers, and consider two potential approaches to the socio-political crisis - top down policy levers versus bottom-up community initiatives. A panel debate will open up the discussion further and consider wide-ranging actions to address these complex issues.
If planning to attend, please take care when booking your place and make sure you select the right ticket. You will also be asked, when registering, to confirm if you would like to attend the Conference Dinner. This is an expression of interest only at this time and full details will be sent to attendees in April.
A full programme for the two days will be available through the Conference homepage on the School of Public Health website - http://www.yorksandhumberdeanery.nhs.uk/public_health/events/yorkshire__humber_public_health_annual_conference/
