Discover how Yorkshire is leading the way in brain tumour research.

About this Event

This jam-packed day will feature world class researchers and doctors from across our region who all leading innovative research to find treatments, and ultimately a cure, for primary brain tumours in adults and children.

Speakers on the day include:

** Mr Paul Chumas, Consultant Neurosurgeon (Adults & Paediatric), The Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Paul is also Co-Founder and Trustee of Brain Tumour Research & Support Across Yorkshire

** Dr Lucy Stead, University Academic Fellow in Cancer Research and Head of Glioma Genomics at the Leeds Institute of Medical Research, St James’s, Leeds

** Dr Heiko Wurdak, Lecturer/Group Leader and Head of Stem Cells and Brain Cancer Group at the Leeds Institute of Medical Research, St James’s, Leeds

** Dr Laura Matthews, University Academic Fellow in Cancer Biology, Section of Infection and Immunity at the Leeds Institute of Medical Research, St James’s, Leeds

** Mr Ryan Mathew, Associate Professor & Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon at the University of Leeds and Leeds General Infirmary

** Dr Pedro Beltran-Alvez, Lecturer & PGR Tutor, Biomedical Sciences at the University of Hull

There will be an overview of the local support services the charity provides and an update about our exciting plans for the future, as well as a chance to hear from some of the people who have first hand experience of the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis.
