Yorkshire Learning Disability Clinical Excellence Network (CEN)
Thu 30 March 2017, 13:00 – 17:00 BST
We are pleased to announce the up and coming relaunch of the Yorkshire Learning Disability CEN. This Clinical Excellence Network is for Speech and Language therapists and assistants working in the field of Learning Disabilities and/or Autism. To coincide with 'World Autism Awareness Week' (27th March-2nd April) the focus of the first CEN will be on working with children and adults with Autism.
We are pleased to be welcoming several speakers for the afternoon who are Speech and Language therapists working in the field. This includes a talk from Gina Davies, SLT specialising in working with individuals with Autism, on the 'Attention Autism' programme. Although developed for individuals with Autism it can also be effectively used for individuals with other communication and social interaction needs.Gina is an inspirational therapist who is sure to give you some practical ideas to take away and use in your therapy sessions. Please see Gina's website to find out more about her work: ginadavies.co.uk
We are also actively encouraging contributions from our members so please bring along any assessments or resources you would like to share with the group. This is an excellent opportunity to network with other therapists and discuss what is working in your field.
Refreshments provided including cake baked by our Post 16 Enterprise students. Parking on site and on Hollin Hill Drive is limited so please consider parking in other nearby residential streets and making the short walk to the venue.
£5 per meeting to pay on the day.
If you would like to be added to the Yorkshire LD CEN contact list please email Ellie Colman: firstname.lastname@example.org
