Join CIMA for an evening of connection, recognition, and celebration in the heart of historic York.
Set in the atmospheric surrounds of the beautiful York Museum Gardens, this annual celebration will bring together management accountants and finance professionals from across the North of England to honour new members, recognise outstanding student achievements, hear from an exceptional speaker, and look ahead with renewed ambition.
The keynote address will be given by no other than Victoria Humphries - a polar adventurer, three-time Guinness World Record holder, and a business leader who has spent her life testing the limits of resilience and courage.
In 1997 Victoria, along with her mother Sue, became part of the first all-female expedition to the North Pole. Along the way they experienced temperatures of -40*C, constantly shifting ice and at one point they both fell into the Arctic Ocean finding themselves in a life-or-death situation. The expedition tested their resilience, their ability to cope with a constantly changing environment and most of all, their courage.
For many years Victoria worked in education and was Managing Director of Teachit. She is now CEO of the Royal Photographic Society and continues to give keynote speeches around the world. Victoria is Chair of Governors of a school in Gibraltar and on the Board of Trustees of a UK based group of schools.
In her talk, she will draw on extraordinary adventures and real-world business experience to share powerful lessons in adaptability, perseverance, and soft skills for thriving in today’s fast-changing workplace. Expect an engaging, story-driven talk that inspires both professionally and personally.
