Despite public condemnation from David Cameron and Obama over illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, Netanyahu - the Prime Minister of Israel - has presided over a marked increase in settlement expansion. From 2009-2014, the Jewish settler population in the West Bank grew by 23 percent.
Join us at the panel fringe event, ‘You can’t build peace with concrete – why ending our relationship with Israel’s illegal settlements is the key’ hosted by the New Statesman and Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC). The discussion will explore the issue of illegal Israeli settlements, the consequences they have for Palestinian lives, as well as prospects for peace, and what concrete steps the Shadow Cabinet can take to help bring about an end to the practice.
