LEGENDARY soul group The Real Thing are set to perform live at the Kingston suite at the KCom Stadium in aid of local charity CASE on Friday 30 September.
The group were formed in Liverpool in the 1970s and were acclaimed for putting the city back on the map musically.
They became known for collaborating with David Essex, and touring internationally with him.
They are best known for their chart success with their huge hit ‘You To Me Are Everything’, which was number 1 in the UK.
CASE is a Hull based charity which provides support to children, young people and adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities who may also have associated physical, sensory and mental disabilities. CASE trainees are given help and support to receive a range of qualifications, training and personal social development underpinned by extensive welfare support which extends to their families and carers.
The Real Thing went on to release four studio albums, with a string of hits, and enjoyed a resurgence in the late 1980s with remixes of several of their hits. Most recently they have been seen at festivals across the UK, and worked alongside artists such as Rick Astley, Boy George and Belinda Carlisle.
