Event description
Welcome to Young Arts Fundraisers' first event in Sussex, a panel discussion and Q&A about what's missing and preparing for new challenges.

About this Event

Doors | 5.45pm

Panel starts | 6.15pm

We are delighted to announce Young Arts Fundraisers' first event in Sussex as part of the Institute of Fundraising's RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme!

Join us at Chichester Festival Theatre for a panel discussion and Q&A entitled What’s missing? How can Young Arts Fundraisers get ready for the challenges on the horizon?

What are the challenges that you face now? What do you think they will look like in a year’s time? We want to address challenges of young arts fundraisers in Sussex, from geographic isolation to relocation, skills gaps and everything in between.

This first event is your opportunity to let us know what you would like from YAF, and how we can support the need in the region. Come and share your ideas and challenges to help us shape our network.

If you want to connect with other fundraisers, grow your understanding of regional fundraising and share knowledge with your peers, you’re in the right place. Join us in The Rehearsal Room in the Steven Pimlott Building on Thursday 31 October to start the conversation.

We will be joined by an expert panel made up of:

- Stephen Chamberlain, Head of Philanthropy, Sussex Community Foundation

- Dr Andrew Higgins, Director of Development, Glyndebourne

- Kata Gyöngyösi, Head of Revenue Funding at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival and Our Future City

When booking this event, you will automatically receive a discount code for an £8.50 ticket to that evening’s 7.45pm performance of Sing Yer Heart Our For The Lads in the Chichester Spiegeltent. To find out more, visit chichesterspiegeltent.com.

A limited number of travel bursaries for this event (up to the value of £20) have been made available by the RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme. These are for arts and cultural sector fundraisers working or living more than 20 miles away from the venue. Bursaries are offered on a first-come first-served basis.

About the Organisers

Young Arts Fundraisers:

Young Arts Fundraisers is a professional network whose aim is to enable early-career fundraisers working in the cultural sector to connect with one another, engage with senior fundraisers and benefit from their experience and advice. YAF organises regular events, including networking opportunities, panel discussions and speed-mentoring sessions. We like to keep it fun too.

RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage:

RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage is the national rollout of the Institute of Fundraising Culture Sector Network, funded by Arts Council England. The 4-year programme aims to support arts and cultural fundraisers based in England through peer to peer learning, bursaries opportunities, networking events and access to onward education.

Led by the Institute of Fundraising, RAISE was founded to support professional development across England, fly the flag for the charitable case for culture, empower arts and cultural sector fundraisers to achieve higher levels of fundraising practice, and to support the drive for greater inclusivity, diversity and representation within the sector.
