Event description
Young Carers Awareness

About this event

We deliver sessions to raise awareness of who a Young Carer is, identify what support they may need and who can support them. A Young Carer is a young person who lives with a family member who has an illness, disability, mental health diagnosis or has been affected by drug and alcohol misuse.

The sessions reflect through discussions and activities how a Young Carer isn’t necessarily just doing personal care or housework but they could also be providing emotional support, meaning they could be missing out on things because they have to work around siblings or family members. Through discussions, young people will also learn how some young carers miss out on school or are unable to do homework.

Cancellation - Please inform our office via email info@youthcommission.gg or on 01481 226099 if you are no longer able to attend this course. If the cancellation is three days or less a fee of £15 may be charged to you or your organisation
