Young Carers Awareness Training
We are pleased to offer this free monthly training session where we will:
- Explore the definition of a Young Carer
- Discuss Young Carer legislation and their rights
- What responsibilities Young Carers may undertake
- The impact their caring role may have to their education, social lives and mental health
- How to refer to the Young Carer provider for necessary support and signposting
Who is the training for?
The training is open to all schools/professionals working in the London borough of Greenwich.
Whether you work directly with children in a school setting, youth and faith groups, social care, out in the community or within a GP surgery, Young Carers are everyone's business and play a vital role in supporting a family member.
The training strives to ensure all are mindful in identifying, acknowledging and supporting Young Carers and their families in order to access the same opportunities as their peers.
