Event description

Description

The course will help governors to gain an understanding of the reasons why children and young people are caring, the types of care they provide, the indicators of being a young carer, and the impact this can have on them. We will look at recent changes in legislation and local policy affecting young carers. The session will also provide useful information

on best practice and free resources for identifying and supporting young carers in your school.

Workshop facilitator:

Laura has worked with vulnerable children and young people in a range of settings for over 15 years, providing specialist group and one-to-one support with young carers for the last seven. Laura coordinates a schools network in Sheffield, providing information, resources and training to over 60 schools and other education providers in the city.

Cost - This training is free if you have subscribed to the Learn Sheffield subscription offer which includes the governance training package. For non-subscribing schools the cost will be £95 per person per session.
