About this event

Family & Education • Education

Now in its 10th year, the Young Coders Competition is a competition for primary and secondary schools (school years 4 to 8) aimed at helping teachers to become more confident with teaching coding skills.

Book onto this meeting, where we will discuss the 2026 theme and show you the great free resources and lesson plans provided. The resources include 12 weeks of lesson planning for absolute beginners (children and teachers!) or a shorter six week version for those who already have a little experience using Scratch. All the session planning is done for you to learn alongside your pupils! Any teacher, tutor or parent can run the competition, whether familiar with coding or completely new to it. **If you are concerned about time zone differences, there will be a recording of this webinar available if you are unable to attend. This would be emailed to you after the event**

Each year children are challenged to make a game using Scratch that aligns with a particular theme; this year's theme is YET TO BE ANNOUNCED. :)
