About this event

Join Inspiring Futures' session for students where we will explore how creativity can improve wellbeing through fun, interactive activities.

Each school can bring a maximum of 12 students, along with any staff/support teachers needed. We recommend this session for students in KS2/KS3.

Please ensure students eat before arrival. Parking is available at the college.

1.00 - 1.30 PM - Registration

1.30 - 2.00 PM - Barking and Dagenham Youth Dance: Warm Up/Ice breaker

2.00 - 3.00 PM - 64 Million Artists: A Creative Manifesto for Mental Health

The final manifesto will be shared with senior leadership, governors, and teachers from within and outside the borough, and the learning explored in the final session of the conference - Creativity for Wellbeing: An Educators Role. So sign up now, to ensure your students are contributing to this important discussion - which will also be really good fun.

Inspiring Futures: The Barking and Dagenham Cultural Education Partnership nurtures links between cultural organisations and schools to work towards every young person having the opportunity to be creative, either in school or beyond. We ensure every school has the opportunity to collaborate with other schools in hubs, form partnerships with cultural organisations, and take part in bespoke projects.

BDYD is a champion grassroots charity who make positive changes to our community by offering high quality arts based projects, youth dance workshops, community arts events and career pathway activities. We provide effective opportunities that engage local people in constructive action, through tasks such as dance, drama and singing, and emphasise common values such as friendship, citizenship and learning.

64 Million Artists believe that everyone is creative, and when we use our creativity we can make positive change in our lives and the world around us. We aim to be a catalyst for the creativity of everyone in the UK. Since we were founded in 2014 by Jo Hunter and David Micklem, we’ve worked with schools, universities, whole cities, workplaces, cultural institutions and health and government bodies to experiment with ways of reconnecting people with their innate creativity.
