This is a face-to-face course for Explorer Scout Young Leaders, prospective Young Leaders and DofE volunteers to cover:

You can attend both modules, or just one of them - you will be able to select the modules when you register. If you are between 13.5 and 17 already and considering becoming a Young Leader you need to take at least Module A.

Module A aims to give you the essential information you'll need to perform your ESYL role safely. It will provide you with the immediate skills needed to assist another section, and to understand your role. You'll also discover how the Scheme works, and find out how to access further training opportunities.

Module C aims to give you a general understanding of how to successfully demonstrate and teach a variety of skills. It will help make that process fun, and ensure that section members enjoy the experience.

Registration

Under registering section headed "Contact Information" - Enter the parent/carers name and email address.

Under Ticket 1: - Enter the name and details of the Young Leader attending the course and select either module A, module C or both modules..

This process ensures relevant safeguarding measures are met. In addition, the registration emails will be addressed to the parent/carer, but the reminders will be sent to the address given at Ticket 1. and the presenters will know the name of the attendee.

What happens once you have booked

You will automatically receive an e-mail confirmation (containing details of what you have booked).

If you need to amend details or cancel the booking you can do so using the "view and manage your order online" link in your confirmation e-mail.

48 hours before the course is due to start, an automatic e-mail will be sent as a reminder.

On the day

If you attending both Module A in the morning and Module C in the afternoon you will need to bring a Packed Lunch.

Course location

This course is being held at the Littleport Scout & Guide Hut, Camel road, Littleport. There is plenty of parking by the hut or in the Leisure centre car park.

Safeguarding

The courses will be presented in accordance to Scout HQ safety guidance.

There will always be two adults on the training team in the presentation room to ensure safeguarding by keeping young people safe.

Recording your attendance

Please bring your Young Leader Logbook for completion by the Training Team. If you do not have one you will be given one on the day.
