Event description
Join CAFOD for a 2 day CPD course on empowering young people to be leaders for social justice.

About this event

Ideal for secondary teachers, school chaplains and aspiring school leaders.

CAFOD is offering free CPD for staff in state-funded schools in England and Wales, as part of the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme, supported by the British Council.

This 2-day training course will resource and equip staff to support and develop young people to step up into a leadership role within their school community and take on a project with whole school impact.

Please note this is a two day online* course and you must attend both days

Saturday 8 May 2021: 9.30-4.00

Saturday 15 May 2021: 9.30-4.00

We will only be able to run this course if there is enough interest. We will let you know if it is cancelled.

The course includes:

  • Exploration of leadership skills
  •  Ways to support young people to lead, inspire and motivate others
  •  Tools and resources to support young people to lead and take action for a better world
  •  Ideas to inspire students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be active global citizens
  •  Support and planning for a project with whole school impact
  •  Follow-up support

The course will take place online but will involve both on-screen and off-screen sessions.

As well as the two day’s training, we will provide ongoing online and offline support to help you implement the learning from the day into the life of your school. There will then be a one-hour twilight webinar (date and time to be confirmed, approximately 6 weeks later) so you can share ideas and feedback on the tools and strategies you have implemented.
