About this event

Join us for Young Makers – a fun, creative 3-part workshop series designed to spark imagination and build confidence through art! Taking place at Equitable House on July 19, August 2, and August 15 (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM), these hands-on sessions help children explore storytelling, sustainability, and self-expression in an engaging, age-appropriate way.

Led by Perky Pen, a creative brand passionate about inclusive art and community, each session offers a new project that encourages kids to express themselves, try new techniques, and feel proud of what they make. No experience needed — just bring curiosity and creativity!

Frequently asked questions

What age group is this for?

Young Makers is ideal for children aged 6–12. Younger children (ages 6–7) are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian.

Do parents need to stay?

Parents are welcome to stay and join in the fun, especially for younger children between 6and 7; but it's not required. Children will be fully supported by our friendly, trained team.

Who is running the workshops? Are they DBS checked?

Yes — all workshop facilitators are safeguarding trained and DBS-checked, with experience working with children in creative settings. Your child’s safety and wellbeing is our top priority.

What will my child be doing?

Each 90-minute session features a guided, hands-on art project — from painting pots to designing characters or comic books. Kids will leave with something they’ve made and feel proud of.

Do we need to bring anything?

All materials are provided.

What if we can’t make every session?

No problem! You can book individual sessions, or save with the 3-session pass.

Will photos be taken?

We may take a few photos during the session for social media or future promotions. If you'd prefer your child not to be included, just let us know at check-in.
