This full-day event comprises a morning of talks gives a theoretical background to the work as well as placing it in the context of 2025. The aim is to then celebrate the work of the young people as they report on the 2024/2025 research projects cycle.
This will be followed by an afternoon workshop on Root Cause Analysis as a way of enabling students to develop research skills.
The aims of the day are to:
- Celebrate the work of young people involved in the project.
- Disseminate the work within the regional, national and international higher education research community.
- Build awareness of the importance of this research with local and regional politicians.
- Develop connections with local community and business groups to further this research work.
- Provide a space to develop symbiotic connections between primary, secondary and higher education.
- Showcase the work of Wallsend Children’s Community and Burnside College.
- Provide a platform for the launch of Year 2 of this research project.
- To highlight the potential support that NIHR can leverage to develop Health and Care research in schools.
