About this event

In this career stories panel discussion, a diverse group of young professionals will share their journey, experience and lessons learnt in the evolving net-zero energy world.

Elhans Imanovs is a graduate reservoir engineer at Equinor. Prior to this, he has also worked for Trident Energy focusing on offshore field development projects. Elhans holds a bachelor’s degree and a MSc in petroleum engineering from the University of Manchester and Imperial College London. During his thesis on CO2 injection, Elhans discovered a great interest in energy transition, and aims to develop it further by serving as the YP chair of SPE Trondheim section.

Rishi Dorai is a strategy and sustainability advisor and a current member of the Climate Reality Project, led by the former US vice president Al Gore. Rishi has a deep interest in energy transition which has helped him to transition from geoscience focused roles in bp to positions in carbon management and net zero strategy. He holds a BSc and a MSc in petroleum geology from the University of London and Imperial College London whilst also serving as an ambassador to the global One Young World leader’s movement.

Max Richards is currently the Energy Transition and Training lead at OPC after obtaining his MSci in Environmental Geoscience from University College London. Max’s masters project, a preliminary study working alongside CarbFix in Iceland and Aramco, focused on the development and implementation of a novel Carbon Capture and Storage technology. A key tool being used globally to bridge the Energy Transition. His technical expertise focuses on the geochemistry and processes that leverage Carbon Capture and Storage.

Asimenia Karydaki is a Climate Change Legislation Consultant at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), specialising on climate law and sustainability, and she is currently in the process of becoming a solicitor in the UK. Asimenia previously worked as an Energy Analyst at Barrows Co. in Lisbon. Asimenia hold an LLM on International Oil and Gas Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, where she was the leading member of a collaborative project with the UN on the development of an “Energy & Climate Change” Toolkit. Asimenia also holds a BSc in Geology and Geo-environment from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

The SPE is a key resource for technical knowledge related to oil and gas exploration and production. It provides services through publications, events, training courses and online resources at www.spe.org. Income from SPE events and services are invested back into SPE to support many other society programs.
