The apostle Paul says that three things endure. One is hope. Sounds good, but is it true? Daily struggles with the gritty reality of life in the shadow of a global pandemic can sap our spiritual energy. What shall we do?
Springtime is here. God created a natural world that is filled with colorful hope. Let’s try to catch up with it.
Just as the first snowdrops hint at Spring way before mornings become lighter and the soil begins to warm, so tiny buds of hope can appear while things are still dark and difficult.
We are going to look at the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel, and explore the moment when a glimmer of hope is given to her, long before her deep desire is fulfilled.
We shall also look at the gap between Elijah’s confident, spiritually fuelled weather forecast to king Ahab, and the very human dread that grows in him as he sits on a mountainside, hoping against hope that his prophecy will be fulfilled.
And of course we shall share stories from our personal experience and look forward to hearing yours.
So, as always, a mixture of light and shade, laughter and tears. Will you enjoy it? We do hope so.
