Your Brain, Your Voice: Brain Implants
Overview
Imagine a tiny device that could watch your tumour 24/7 and deliver treatment exactly where it's needed, without another trip to hospital. Sounds like science fiction? It's closer than you think - but we need your help to make it happen.
What's this about? Researchers at Queen Mary University of London are exploring how brain implants - small electronic devices already helping people with Parkinson's and epilepsy - could revolutionise brain tumour care. We're talking about technology that could monitor tumour changes in real-time and deliver treatment directly to your brain, bypassing the complexity of trying to get therapies across the blood brain barrier.
Why you matter You've lived with this. You know what works, what doesn't, and what questions doctors forget to ask. Would you trust a brain implant? What would make it worth it? What worries you? Your honest answers will shape whether this research flies or fails.
Plus, you'll meet others who are in the same space - no explaining, no awkward silences.
What's involved? One hour online. We'll send you information beforehand so you can come prepared, and you'll need to complete a simple consent form.
Who can join? Patients and caregivers (18+) affected by any type of brain tumour.
