Your Business Could Save The Planet: The small business workshop for a paperless office.
Experts in business and technology have been talking about the paperless office since the 1970's. It was the elusive 'great vision' (Bill Gates), the 'holy grail of the stationery cupboard' (The Guardian) and always just out of reach.
Fortunately, if the paperless office is the holy grail then small businesses like yours are Indiana Jones.
Unlike large corporations, small businesses have far more control over the use of paper within their office and can take advantage of free software to reduce paper in small teams.
Kate Harrison wrote in Forbes, 'every step towards a paperless environment will save you time, money, storage space and clutter.'
This workshop promises to go far beyond 'please consider the environment before printing this email'.
Leading you through these steps will be expert speakers Gildas Jones from Dial a Geek, and Kirstie Sneyd from Blue Acorn Solutions:
To begin our workshop, event host and Dial a Geek Green Champion Jennifer Rollason will get everyone thinking about how sustainability can become an integral part of, and positive force in, their business.
She will be followed by Gildas Jones, armed with the technical know-how to deliver paper-reducing solutions for your business.
Finally, drawing on her years of experience working with small businesses and multinationals, Kirstie Sneyd will deliver an interactive workshop focused on changing workplace behaviour.
We'll finish with the opportunity to network for half an hour - our experience has taught us that there is always plenty to talk about following a workshop, and some great connections to be made, so don't forget your business cards.
The venue will be next to a bus stop to encourage greener travel, but if you need to drive limited parking will be available outside the venue.
We'll also have unlimited tea, coffee, and cookies for attendees. After all, you're saving the planet; it's the least we can do.
