Description

Swythamley Chapel Prize Competition

The event's website is www.yourcountrychurch.com.

We're on Facebook under "Win a Country Church".

For as little as £6, an astonishingly fortunate individual will win Swythamley Chapel, including the freehold title. Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is paid by the Promoter. The house is in a crime-free, unspoiled area of the Peak National Park and yet is just 40 minutes from Manchester Airport.

Please check the website www.yourcountrychurch.com (Payments page) for the latest offers and Promotions; these change frequently, especially as we near the end. It is also important you read the Terms & Conditions.

BUNDLED OFFERS

The best-selling bundles are MOSTLY shown in the ticket options here, but do read the website Payments page, as there are often additional bundles there that you won't see on Eventbrite. For example, at the moment (February 2018), there's a bundled offer of house + BMW X5 tckets, which cannot be purchased via Eventbrite but is available on the website.

To adhere to the agreed conditions for use of Eventbrite, only house-specific offers (not cars and other special promotions) will be offered via Eventbrite.

Those paying by bank transfer may also have marginally better deals, merely because fees are saved.

So, don't miss out; read the website's Payments page and revisit Eventbrite to buy your 'house only' bundled offer, if that's what you decide to purchase.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

In addition to paying, everyone must visit www.yourcountrychurch.com and complete the Your Country Church Entry Form. Payment alone is not an entry! It's the Entry Form that identifies you and ensures the competition is compliant with U.K. competition laws.

The closing date is when 125,000 entries have been sold if I am to achieve the house giveaway. If 125,000 tickets haven't sold by April 1st, I will run an entrant poll to decide:

- should we extend the term by 90 days?
- or should we give you a cash alternative, comprising the accumulated cash pot achieved by that date?

It will be down to entrants to vote, with the poll open to inspection.

We would have long since achieved the point at which I could afford to give away Swythamley Chapel, if it were not for the fact that the bank made a series of processing errors and was unable to process some £301,000 right at the start; these funds never left the senders' accounts, unfortunately! (Everyone affected knows...so don't panic that it's you).

This has been really dispiriting but, these competitions are inovative and nobody at the bank even realised the barriers they had, internally, to taking 'fast funds'! Thankfully, we have made up a lot of ground since, albeing more slowly and cautiously.

The good part is that it's really shown me how to run competitions well, and all the problems are ironed out now--albeit via a steep and painful experience with British bankers!

As all funds processors showed they were unable to deal with fast funds, slowing it down has been necessary and this is also why I am looking to sell more bundles, as it means overall fewer single transactions for either Eventbrite or the bank.

So, it's possible the extension term will be needed but I am still going all out to get a draw in April; I personally also don't want to have this dragged out--there are new plans I need to get on with, and I don't really want a house competition going on forever! But I'd extend if that's what entrants were to vote, should a vote be necessary.

WHAT IF THE FUNDS ARE NOT ENOUGH FOR THE HOUSE GIVEAWAY?

The best case scenario is that the house giveaway will happen, but later, and the worst-case scenario is that a sizeable cash fund will be given as a prize if the sum accumulated from ticket sales are insufficient to clear the mortgage.

It's a big win either way! (I'd love to give the house, preferably, as it's what this is all about, but if we haven't covered the mortgage, the lender wouldn't facilitate that! So, that's the aim--to cover the mortgage at least).

I do not intend to hold back any of the accumulated funds in the event of giving the cash accumulated; the whole will be available as the cash prize and everyone will also have a full refund option until seven days prior. Once I know whether I can give the house or must award the cash, you'll all get that final opt-out chance, with an announcement being made around the middle of April when the final cash position is known.

QUESTIONS?

Email me, Annie, at editor@e-scribes.com
I am not on email daily at the moment, merely due to work pressures and the type of work I am doing, but I welcome emails and questions, and can give you a call if you need! Please be patient while I find my way to your message.
