About this event

It's time to build a new kind of political party – one that belongs to you

This public meeting will be the first unofficial gathering of 'Your Party' supporters in Ealing, as well as the launch of Ealing Community Independents – a new political party for Ealing, that will challenge Labour from the left in the coming (May 2026) local elections.

The meeting is open to the many people who have signed up to support the new party announced by Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana in late July. Our venue has space for 200 people - we appreciate people signing up via Eventbrite, so we can keep track of numbers.

This will be a grassroots meeting – aimed at sparking a discussion about the kind of party we need and planning next steps for Your Party and Ealing Community Independents. There will be plenty of opportunity for attendees to participate in the discussion. We look forward to hearing YOUR contributions.

Speakers include:

Rob Williams – Chair, NSSA (in a personal capacity)

Dr Bob Gill – NHS doctor and campaigner

Jean Fitzpatrick – local pro-Palestine activist

Onay Kasab – National lead officer, Unite (in a personal capacity)

🎶 Music from Caroline Goodwin

& more

Some of the issues we aim to cover in this meeting:

How to build people-led politics with elected local representatives rooted in their communities

Alternatives to austerity: standing up for investment in public services in Ealing - no to cuts, closures, or privatisation

Challenging the rise of Reform UK and the far-right – at the ballot box and in our communities

A Council that cares: no to investment in companies allegedly complicit in international law and human rights violations in Palestine and across the world

Join others who want to see a new kind of politics - one based on a grassroots movement will address poverty wages, housing shortages, attacks on benefits and bring power back to those who have been neglected through years of two-party rule.

Bring your energy, commitment, ideas and skills to help us change politics in Ealing (and the UK) forever.
