Actions and Detail Panel
Your questions answered by an expert panel on midwifery units
Tue 7 February 2017, 10:00 – 12:00 GMT
The RCM Better Births Initiative and the Midwifery Unit Network (MUNet) are jointly hosting an online question and answer session. We are inviting individuals and teams who would like more information for particular aspects of setting up, managing, or working in freestanding/community and alongside/co-located midwifery units. The session will be closed to invited participants (up to 4) only and is an opportunity to discuss areas of improvement, work up ideas together or next steps.
The online panel will consist of midwives and healthcare professionals with expertise in setting up, managing and sustaining midwifery units and will be tailored to the requirements of the participants.
To participate, please register and we will contact you to let you know if you have secured a slot.
About the Midwifery Unit Network
The Midwifery Unit Network offers support to those wishing to develop midwifery units (birth centres), and to already established midwifery units. The network acts as a hub to share good practice and information resources, and be a community of practice with a shared philosophy essential to offer consistent, excellent and safe care for women and their families.
About the RCM Online Panels
The Royal College of Midwives is hosting online panels to support your work in providing high quality maternity care. The online Panel will be brought together from the Midwifery Unit Network with expertise in your area of interest. The discussion will be with just you (and the colleagues you invite) and the online panel and will be available for 10 to 30 minutes per participant.
Process for joining in
Once you register, we will let you know if you have a slot. There will be 4 places available and 2 will be held on standby. When you have a confirmed slot, we will contact you by phone ahead of the Panel discussion to make sure that you have all the right technology to take part.
You can take part from your work, home or somewhere that suits you. We just ask that you are in a quiet area. You will ideally need access to a computer with internet access, however we can also make this work with just a phone. We will send you personalised information on how you can join in on the day.
Not sure if this is what you need?
We would be happy to discuss your requirements with you, so if you do have some questions, but not sure if this is the right option for you, please do get in touch, please email Rupa Chilvers on firstname.lastname@example.org
