Event description
Standardisation is the final stage of the quality assurance process for Youth Achievement Awards where young peoples' awards are confirmed.

About this Event

Standardisation of young peoples' awards ensures that the previous stages of quality assurance have been applied with diligence and rigour by the submitting Operating Agency and that all awards satisfy the assessment criteria.

Attending a standardisation meeting will give you the opportunity to review submissions from all around Scotland - to see examples of good practice and help you to develop your professional practice. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and build your confidence around quality assuring awards and to network with other practitioners.

On the day there is optional training available for those looking to take on the role of internal verifier for Youth Achievement Awards. Please note that you only need to attend this training once. The format for the day is that trainees will participate in standardisation, attend a workshop and then re-join the standardisation meeting, providing a mix of practise and theory. To attend both the standardisation meeting and book a training place please select 'Standardisation with Training' when you book.

All bookings at this event must be authorised by the Operating Agency key contact as there is a maximum of three places available to each Operating Agency and only one of these three places can be used for attending internal verifier training.

Anyone looking to attend a standardisation meeting must have completed Youth Scotland approved awards introductory training prior to attending. You will be reviewing and quality assuring the work of other practitioners. It is matter of common sense and respect for your fellow practitioners that you have an understanding of the awards before you comment on their work.
