Youth Agency and Leadership for Cultural Education Partnerships
Event Information
About this event
How effectively does your CEP support local children and young people to be active change agents and leaders in cultural education? Youth leadership is an area that most CEPs aspire to do better. This workshop will give you the opportunity to reflect on your CEP’s current practice and explore next steps, supported by young people who have researched the topic intensively for Southampton CEP.
By taking part in this session you can:
- Be guided in your Youth Voice work by two of the young consultants who created Southampton CEP’s Youth Voice Zine.
- Benchmark your CEP’s progress on Youth Agency and Leadership against good practice approaches.
- Explore new ways to engage children and young people as active change agents and leaders in cultural education.
- Start developing a next steps action plan for your CEP’s youth voice work.
Before the workshop, the Youth Voice Zine will provide the basis for prework, reflecting on your CEP’s achievements to date. At workshop, a combination of presentations and activities will help you to define and plan your next steps.
Facilitated by Artswork with input from Hannah Buckingham and Sophie Wallace-Cook.
Former Artswork Kickstarters, Sophie and Hannah were the co-authors with Basil Barron of the Southampton CEP Youth Voice Zine. This valuable resource has been created as a guide to best practice for working with young people in arts and culture. Through a series of case studies and analysis it details the best ways to engage with young people, covering key topics including youth boards, value exchange and youth accessibility.
This event is for members of South East Cultural Education Partnerships only. Each CEP is entitled to four tickets. Please select the ticket type relevant to your CEP when signing up. Artswork reserves the right to cancel ineligible bookings.
