Wednesday 17th September, 18:00 - 19:30 pm.
Join representatives from Freshwater Habitats Trust, Wild New Forest and RSPB for a walk at Franchises Lodge to discuss the work we are doing on the site for our current Species Survival Fund project.
We will discuss the ongoing works on the site, recent species surveys and future work whilst thinking about the impact of these works in the face of the ongoing climate crisis.
This is a great opportunity for any early-career conservationists who are keen to learn more about a local ongoing conservation project, however there is no maximum age limit.
Parking: please park under the pylon lines on site, what3words location: pods.detective.knowledge. The easiest access route is via Lyburn Road. We recommend car sharing where possible.
This walk will be approximately 2 miles on flat ground, primarily on compacted tracks. Please wear weather appropriate clothing (e.g. coats, layers, waterproofs) and sturdy footwear and ensure you have any food, water and medication you may require.
Species Survival Fund is a collaborative project between five partners to help halt species decline and restore habitats in the New Forest and is funded by Defra and National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Walk may be rescheduled in the case of poor weather e.g. high winds.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
