How do we get to the venue?

The Winson Green venue is close to Birmingham city centre. Local bus routes (82,87 & 88) stop nearby, as does the West Mids metro line. There is limited  parking on the street outside the venue. We encourage public transport or car-sharing where possible.

Question 2

What do we bring?

Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear (we’ll be outside for most of the day). A reusable water bottle is recommended. Lunch will NOT be provided but basic refreshments and resources will be provided on the day. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH :)

Is the venue accessible?

Accepted Answer

Accessibility: The building at Centre of the Earth is wheelchair accessible, with step-free entry, accessible toilets, and quiet breakout space available. Please contact us  if you have any specific access needs as the surrounding nature site is not appropriate for wheelchair access.

Question 4

I don't live in  Birmingham or the Black Country, can I still come?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we welcome all young people aged 16–25. However depending on demand, priority spaces may be given to residents of Birmingham and the Black Country (Wolverhampton, Walsall, Birmingham, Dudley and Sandwell).

Do you need any experience?

Accepted Answer

No specific experience is needed! The day is designed for beginners and those already passionate. Just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.

Can you cover my travel costs?

At Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust, we have a discretionary pot to cover travel expenses for those who need it (up to the cost of £5 or a daysaver ticket). If you require it, please email us at aisha.m@bbcwildlife.org.uk.
