About this Event
The day will consist of some classroom time learning about the topic of the day followed by a practical task. For example, learning how to identify British birds and building a new bird feeding station.

What will your responsibilities be?
• Creating and maintaining wildlife areas and delivering other practical conservation tasks.
• Delivering new projects around the farm to enhance its wildlife value
• General maintenance tasks such as filling bird feeders and emptying bird boxes.
• Building new structures for wildlife such as bug houses and bird boxes.
• Maintaining all equipment used.
• Helping to improve the space for our local wildlife as well as visitors to the farm.
What must a practical volunteer have?
• Good level of fitness.
• Able to work outside in all weathers.
• Trustworthy, self-motivated team player.
• Keenness to develop their practical skills.
• May already possess particular practical skills.
• Must be aged between 14-17.
Time Commitment: This group meets monthly 10:00-15:00 on the second Sunday of the month. Participants are welcome to come as much or as little as they would like but must be registered as a volunteer. Anyone not registered will be asked to complete an application form on the day. All information retained will comply with current GDPR.
