Online Youth Contemporary Dance Class with The Dance Network Association - Appropriate for ages 12+

About this Event

Join lead artist Hayley Lemon, class assistant Beth Fisher, and the current Young Professionals company via Zoom for contemporary class. Improve your technique and build on creative skills.

Suitable for young people aged 12-19 years.

Once you have signed up to sessions you should receive confirmation from Eventbrite. On the day of the class you will be sent a Zoom link ID and Password to access the session. Please try to arrive 5 minutes before the start if session so that class can start on time.

If you are under the age of 18 you must have your parents permission to take part in the classes and they must be aware that you will online with us during 17.00 - 18.00pm in a two way conversation along with other young adults of the same age.

Health and safety is paramount to the organisation and as we cannot be directly in your environments we ask that you complete a few risk assessment points before starting any dance activity and understand that our tutors and the organisation are unable to take responsibility for any illness and injury caused whilst taking part in an online session.

- If this is a new activity to you please consult with your GP before you engage.

- Please check the space and your surroundings clearing any hazards or things you may slip, trip or fall on.

- Stay hydrated throughout, have a water capped bottle close by, or if like many of our classes a cuppa - but make sure this is out of immediate reach so you do not have any hot spillages.

- Make sure you are in free moving and comfortable clothing.

- Make sure your footwear grips to your floor for any flooring type or you are in socks if you are just on carpet to prevent carpet burn.

- Although we will offer both a short warm up and cool down during the session we would advise that you spend at least 15 minutes prior to and following the class to amply stretch your body, joints and muscles to reduce risk of injury and delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) over the coming days.

Finally, all the music we use is strictly for teaching this dance activity and educational purposes we do not hold the rights to any music used.
