Eligibility
This is a two day course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex.
What is Youth MHFA?
Youth MHFA offers an internationally recognised course designed especially for those people that teach, work, live with or care for young people aged 8 to 18 years.
Participants learn how to provide information, tools and techniques to promote a young persons mental and emotional well-being and to support a young person who might be experiencing mental and emotional distress.
What will I learn on a Youth MHFA course?
The aims of Youth MHFA are to enable participants to:
Gain a more in-depth understanding of some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis
Work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues
Identify stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues
Support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experience
How will I learn?
The Youth MHFA consists of two full days.
You’ll receive a Youth MHFA manual that you can take away with you at the end of the course and a certificate from MHFA England.

The course runs on Wednesday 2nd November and Thursday 3rd November from 9.00am - 5pm.

Please notify us ASAP if you are unable to attend the course. As this is a funded programme our aim is to ensure all available places are taken up. Early notification may mean we can offer this space to someone on our waiting list.
