Youth Scotland’s Big Day Out

A series of regional events for Young people aged 11-25

The Big Day’s Out are a series of free events for Young people hosted by Youth Scotland in various locations across Scotland. The Big Day’s Out have been designed to provide access to Youth Scotland’s high quality training to young people across Scotland. This event offers young people the opportunity to undertake quality training, develop new skills and share their experiences with other young people. With various workshops to choose from, there's something available for everyone!

Access to Learning & Training Opportunities – Big Skills offers a choice of workshop topics, all delivered in one location, in a single day.

Networking – A chance to meet other young people, find out what they are doing and share ideas and experiences.

Fun - All sessions have been designed to be engaging and interesting with the aim of providing memorable sessions for the young people in attendance.

The Big Day Out will feature workshops from the following Youth Scotland delivered programmes:

Money for Life : From empowering young people to feel confident and start talking openly about money to providing high-quality training and crucial support systems; Money for Life equips 16-25 year olds across the UK with the knowledge, life skills and provision needed to manage their money.

Generation Code: Generation Code addresses the lack of skills in computer science in young people, empowering them to become digital creators in an ever-changing global society.

UPS Road Code: Youth Scotland delivers the Scottish arm of Road Code, a global innovative road hazard awareness programme. We offer half-day workshops at youth clubs and projects around the country that combine workshops and experience ‘behind the wheel’ of a driving simulator. We focus the course on passenger safety, with an aim of increasing confidence around young people speaking up in potentially dangerous situations. .

Stand Up: Stand Up to Sectarianism uses tools developed by young people to explore ways to tackle sectarianism and prejudice in communities across Scotland. The Stand Up workshop raises awareness and aims to address sectarianism in a thought-provoking and fun way.

Young People Taking the Lead: Provides lots of new and exciting projects for young people to take part in as well as support young people as Young Advisors, National Advisors, Peer Educators and Peer Mentors to create, develop and deliver opportunities, programmes, activities and events for others both locally and nationally.

We will be adding more dates and events around Scotland so keep an eye on this website for details.
