Youth Volunteering Event

A virtual celebration event to thank the young volunteers who have been a part of VAL’s Youth Volunteering Panel for the last year and a half. We have seen 16 young people participate in creating and developing ideas to make volunteering more accessible to their peers and are looking at the next phase for youth volunteering initiatives now.

The Volunteering Youth Panel is a collective of young people age 16-25, working with Voluntary Action Leicestershire to develop new, dynamic and enjoyable volunteering opportunities in Leicester and Leicestershire. Members have a voice across the organisation, attend panel meetings and act as consultants on projects. It’s a flexible and friendly group that provides a safe space to share thoughts and ideas.

During this event we will:

• Hear from our panel members
• Present our achievements and plans for the future
• Hear from Voluntary Action Leicestershire and other organisations on the strategic direction for youth volunteering in Leicester and Leicestershire going forwards
• Take part in a short workshop and Q&A discussing the challenges with youth volunteering
